It is pretty usual to get rejected by Legon. Almost every WASSCE holder dreams to enter University of Ghana, Legon to pursue a degree programme. Due to the volume of applicants, sometimes you can get rejected, which is very much okay.

The first thing I recommend you do if you do not gain admission into Legon is changing programs. Sometimes you only couldn’t get admission because your grades did not meet the cutoff point for the particular program you applied for. If your WASSCE grades are not all that good and do not meet the minimum cutoff point to apply to Legon, you may consider writing NOVDEC to improve your grades or a second WASSCE if your grades are that bad.
I know you don’t want to write remedial as your friends are already progressing in the university. You feel like you have failed badly but hey, that is completely not true. Taking a year to get better grades which will help you land a better programmes in the university is definitely not a failed endeavour.
Legon is not the only school in Ghana. Apply to another university if you did not gain admission but at least you have decent WASSCE grades to enter the university.
Other institutions like GIMPA and UPSA are a bit easier to enter compared to Legon.
Sometimes you may be lucky the second time. If your grades meet the minimum cutoff point for the programmes you selected, you can try again. This may not be a good recommendation and I suggest you only do this as a second option after you already have a plan underway.
If you are 25 years old or above, you can consider applying as a mature student. You will need to pass an entrance exam and after that, you will gain admission. The programmes available to mature students are a bit limited so you may not get your desired programme but you will certainly get one that is close to it.
You need to understand that so many people apply to Legon and out of the thousands of applicants, most may be rejected. Do not be sad about this situation, rather look at other amazing opportunities you can explore either to enter Legon or another institution altogether.
