The Ghana Education Service has rescheduled the academic calendar for senior high school’s double track system in 2022.
GES made this information known to the public through a press conference. This update to the academic calendar also affects the reopening and vacation dates.

This is the transitional calendar by GES for senior high schools in Ghana
The Green and Gold Track system applied by Ghana Education Service to senior high schools is a strategy to rationalised secondary education in Ghana within state-owned senior high schools. This became needful as government decided to make senior high school education free for all Ghanaians, the state needed a way to manage the huge number of students applying every year.
The government of Ghana made senior high school education free for all Ghanaians in 2017 under the presidential administration of Nana Akufo-Addo.
